During this time of quarantine we are finding new ways to be together apart, and finding ourselves yearning for ways to stay in touch and connect with family and friends. So this week, we are focusing on ideas for group activities!
And, in case you missed last week's list of ideas, here is a link to check it out because some of those ideas are perfect for group settings as well. And when we say group activities, this could be: a catch up with friends or family, a new weekly tradition, a family reunion gone virtual, a birthday celebration or any other reason to get a few people together.
Afternoon Tea with The Dessert Ladies -- Remember when we could gather with friends and go for brunch or tea at Bergdorf’s?? We may not be doing that in person for a while, but why not create a new version of it. Order a pairing of desserts, sandwiches and tea for your group to receive, set a time, pull out some china (or buy it online and ship it to everyone) and enjoy quality time with each other having the same experience from different locations!
Virtual Magic Night with Matias Letelier -- Give your mind a break from day to day problem solving and instead be blown away by the mind games of illusion and magic. We can tell you first hand, virtual does not take away from this experience at all, your mind will still be blown. Matias is a super talented illusionist and mentalist and his show is the perfect balance of entertaining and engaging. We promise everyone will have fun.
Murder Mystery Party with Red Herring Games -- We might be biased, but we do love a good themed party. Gather your team, get in character, travel to another world and work together to solve a murder. No prior detective experience needed.
Talent Show -- Let’s go a little old school with this idea and get to know your friends or family on a deeper level. Come up with a series of categories that are revealed during a group call and each person has to picking something in their home to fit the category once it’s announced (IE childhood memorabilia, most used item in your pantry, etc.). You’ll be surprised at how much you can learn about others from what is in their home (or maybe what’s on their computer browser!).
Group Watch Party on CYA Live -- Channeling the days of going to movie theaters, Broadway shows, the ballet...well this is the next best thing. Not only can you watch a variety of amazing shows, it’s a live group setting, you can interact with friends while watching (just don’t be that annoying friend that asks questions the whole time!) and this site even has celebrities join the watch party to engage with you.
Happy planning! And check back next week for a new set of quarantine event ideas and let us know if there are any types of events you’d like us to feature!
