Hi everyone!
Daniela here, Chief Amazement Officer at @visioneventco and your resident event fanatic. Coming to you live from my bedroom to share some thoughts as we get into week ??? of quarantine.
First and foremost, I hope you're healthy and safe while reading this and for those who might be going through a hard time, sending you all the well wishes for a quick recovery and positive thoughts to stay strong and get through this❣️
The effects of COVID-19 have been challenging and disheartening on so many levels. We are worried about our health, worried about the well being of our friends and family, worried about the toll it's taking on our healthcare heroes, worried about the general state of the world.
And on our end, the very thing that brings us an insane amount of joy, creating events for others, is on pause.
Our team has accepted that as event professionals we may not be able to save the world with something as direct as medical help, but I do believe that the essence of events will help us get through this time and have something really amazing to look forward to.
For us, events are in our blood. We love everything about them. Bringing people together, creating an environment for purpose and celebration, making memories, and making an impact that lasts way beyond a few hours...we live for this and this time in quarantine has only strengthened our need for all the above.
Yesterday, we witnessed one of our couples get married in their home with an officiant on their TV while friends and family cheered them on via Zoom because #loveisnotcancelled and we can be together while apart. We have a non profit event planning a virtual fundraiser in a few weeks because philanthropy and doing good is not cancelled and we can still spread awareness while apart.
We'll keep celebrating in small ways until we're able to celebrate in bigger ways together again. But know, the small ways will be just as beautiful and meaningful, like a preview of what's to come. Because who doesn't love a good trailer to get excited for the feature film??? I believe this with all my heart and hope this small reminder helps you believe it too.
