Quarantine Event Ideas: Date Night
Events are looking different these days, but different does not mean less eventful or less fun! We are going to share event ideas with you weekly — let’s embrace new ways to celebrate while at home or in more intimate settings!
This week, we’re talking all things DATE NIGHT! (Or Date Day, because WFH might allow for that). Check out our top 8 ideas below and click on the title links for more info on each:
Jazz Night with Acute Inflections — pop a bottle of bubbly, light some candles and sit back while the beautiful sounds of Acute Inflections transport you to your favorite lounge from the comfort of your home. And in this lounge, you can make song requests!
Oyster Shucking Class with OystersXO — we all say we want to learn new skills while in quarantine, so why not add oyster shucking to the list? And yes, you get to eat the oysters too! Kits with all the materials are delivered to you alongside a Zoom class to make you an expert.
FaceTime Photo shoot with Philip Van Nostrand — we cannot deny this is a time in our lives we will want to tell our children and grandchildren about, so why not document some of the experience with a professional photographer…using your phone! Phil will talk you through the details and capture you in your best quarantine zone to look back on for years to come.
Wine Tasting & Paint Night — classic date night idea made more intimate AND although we do recommend wine (City Winery has great virtual tasting options or support your local wine shops!), this could also be done with a cocktail challenge to get your creative juices flowing. Plus, we are all realizing we need to finally finish decorating our apartments/houses so why not use our own art??
Supermarket Rendezvous — dinner is a date norm, but why not make the supermarket run part of the date now that it’s an adventure of its own??? Check out THIS IDEA that was done by a couple to spice things up!
Childhood Photo Montage — remember when bringing your significant other home to your parents for the first time was a big deal because it included a treasure chest of childhood photo albums to resurface?? Let’s admit that’s a true testament to a relationship and we can still make that happen -- if you’re not home, have your parents send you old photos, make some cocktails and laugh your way through memories and getting to know each other better. No judgement zone.
Night (or Day) at the Museum — This idea could also be called a trip around the world! Google now lets you virtually step inside a ton of the world’s best museums and cultural attractions, so use this as a preview of some places you’ve been wanting to visit and start curating that post-quarantine vacation.
Virtual Cooking Class with dineDK — because eating in shouldn’t be a punishment after all this time at home! Take a virtual cooking class with a Michelin-trained chef, maybe role play (chef, sous-chef, server…go crazy!) and have fun working together to create a truly home-cooked meal. Everyone wins for a great night!
Check back next week for a new set of quarantine event ideas and let us know if there are any types of events you’d like us to feature! We’re having fun brainstorming ideas for: birthdays, friend and/or family reunions, anniversaries, graduations, and more!
